Ben Hahlen has worked in the health and life sciences sectors for 24 years. In his present role at Thermo Fisher Scientific, based in San Diego, California, Ben Hahlen is senior manager of global market development

Mr. Hahlen began his career with GE Healthcare in 2000. He held a variety of roles from operations and six sigma process improvement, consulting, and marketing, ultimately becoming acting director of marketing. In this position, he planned the global marketing strategy and budget for seven regions. He also helped his team generate more than $20 million in marketing leads, representing a 60 percent increase. He received the top performer ranking as interim director for his work. In 2015, Abbot Laboratories hired Mr. Hahlen as a global marketing manager.

In this role with Abbot Laboratories research teams he oversaw digital, service, and product marketing, as well as branding strategy. Along with Abbott Laboratories’ research teams and the finance department, he developed business case evaluations. He also led the global launch of on-market software and product releases.

Mr. Hahlen was hired by Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2018. As a senior manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Mr. Hahlen has led the marketing teams to produce $4.8 million in gains, while the budget was reduced by 40 percent. Since working with the company, he has been in charge of 23 marketing campaigns and 57 marketing programs. He currently supervises a team of 15 marketing program managers. Mr. Hahlen is a member of the Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives. He is also a GE Six-Sigma Black Belt, and has graduated from programs Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Developing Frontline Leaders program, and Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Developing Emerging Leader program, among other certifications.
